Middle/Senior Ruby developer

We're looking to grow our development team with Ruby developers with a passion for e-commerce.

The position:

This is a Full times position, hours are flexible. Responsibilities include

Build custom Shopify themes from the ground up
Implement new features or improve UI/UX on existing Shopify themes
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams
Support the planning and scoping of new features and projects
Provide input on a range of topics, from accessibility to performance

Responsibilities

Developing eCommerce sites on Shopify platform
Developing custom Shopify themes
Migrating websites from other eCommerce platforms to Shopify
Extending Shopify’s functionalities to the next level using storefront APIs, liquid programming, meta fields, etc
Integrating third-party and platform supported apps in the sites
Setting up payment integration, shipping methods, and taxes in Shopify platform
Page speed optimization of Shopify sites
Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in Shopify sites
Transforming complex layout PSDs into pixel-perfect presentation-layer HTML5/CSS3 templates
Creating responsive website designs
Working with version control systems such as GIT / SVN
Working under tight deadlines
Handling multiple projects at the same time
Producing high quality of work with a strong focus on detail
Thoroughly QA work before submission
Requirements

Fluent in English
Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES5|ES6), Ruby, Ruby on Rails
Experience with version control and modern build technologies
Expertise in authoring responsive, cross-browser compatible code
Ability to self-manage
Excellent time management and communication skills
Experience working as part of a remote team

Pluses

Experience in Shopify web development
Experience authoring Shopify themes from scratch
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or React.js
Familiarity with WCAG and accessibility best practices
Familiarity with performance testing and optimization
Familiarity with SEO best practices
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, GTM
Familiarity with CRO and related tools such as Google Optimize
Experience with Shopify API and SDKs
